A recent study shows that 40% of all the students who have chosen Mechanical Engineering had no idea what it was all about and didn’t even know if their interested in it. Due to recent trend of “Engineering” parents ask the children to join engineering for the most part that they would get into a technological company somewhere out of India. Since students have not been through proper counselling and have been misled thinking of the same.
India has most of number of Engineering Graduates in the entire Globe! Roughly 10 times the number of engineering graduates around the world. Due to racist activities around the world Indians do not fare that well abroad as that they do here in India. Here’s what we heard from a CET candidate.
I only took up Mechanical Engineering is because I didn’t like computers or electronics and also since I had got a good rank I thought I could go for Mechanical just like the others. I also like cars.

As a matter of fact some students believe that a mechanical engineering student can get jobs from all the other computer related companies as well. But, is this why students take up engineering in India? All they wish to do is work for other people?
Around 90% of students of Mechanical Engineering do not get into a company related to anything that they have studied for the last 3 years of their . Here’s what a student of an engineering college had to tell us.
Having a degree is no big deal nowadays. Earlier, the only people who had a degree would be rich and smart. But nowadays people with none of them have degrees from some god forsaken college. This is getting really annoying to see educational institutes show such greed of money over knowledge. And I can’t believe that the parents of these children are buying every word that they are saying.
And whats up with this reservation system? Giving free education for people from a poor background. I say, that the free education should be given to everyone. Education should not be priced.
